Junk Food and Inflammation

Eating junk food on a regular basis can increase inflammations in our bodies. Junk foods are low in beneficial nutrients and very high in sugar, refined carbohydrates, trans and saturated fats. Sugar is known as the “White poison” based on its harmful effects on our bodies and health, especially when eating them everyday excessively.

When you have an inflammation, your immune system will start fighting your own cells by mistake; this can then lead to serious chronic diseases, like obesity, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis (inflamed joints), cancer, and heart disease.

Foods that trigger inflammation

· Sugar: sodas, donuts, cookies, ice creams, candies, cakes, some cereals, and chocolates.

· Trans & saturated fats: pizza, fried foods, processed meat, partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, margarine, cakes, cookies, and donuts.

· Refined carbohydrates: white rice, some cereals, white flour, white bread, white pasta, crackers, donuts, cakes, and cookies.

Stay away from junk food, yes you will enjoy their good taste for a few minutes, but then you’ll have to deal with the harmful effects for the rest of your life. You can still enjoy eating them in moderation (every while and then), but not on a regular basis.
